Scratches in the Wall is a sound and installation work designed for bathrooms. The narrative recounts the story of Aunt Joan and the birds that are trapped in her bathroom wall. Bathrooms offer a privacy that can prey on our curiosity to investigate people’s private cabinets. When opening this cabinet the sound components reveal the curiosity of the person in the bathroom to those within earshot. The narrative requires time to unfold, extending the amount of time spent alone in the bathroom.
